The MoMA design area has these gorgeous ceramic tiles built by Antonio Gaudi from the Casa Mila in Barcelona about a hundred years ago. We’ve been building a 21st century hex tile, but out of concrete instead of ceramic. They may not necessarily be around in 100 years, but they have 50-75% recycled glass inside, so that’s something.
At right you’ll see a sample of inlaid concrete. We are still thinking up awesome applications for this. Signage? art? ??
